Learning proper structure is the key to long-term success in nails.
Below is a quick visual breakdown of some nails we reviewed that were structurally incorrect. These examples show what was wrong—and more importantly, how those issues can be corrected for stronger, longer-lasting results.
In our Salon Shaping Class, we teach four essential nail shapes and how to execute them properly from start to finish. This includes correct prep, form customization and application, pinching techniques, product placement, filing, and final finishing—so every set is not only beautiful, but built to last.
Our goal is to set you up for real success as a nail tech, not shortcuts.
Always remember: nails are not something you master overnight. Skill comes from education, patience, consistency, and a whole lot of practice.
If you put in the work, you can achieve anything. 💜
🚨Disclaimer: the nails used for these examples are lead educator Angela’s old work. No student or other nail tech was harmed from this post.
